BSB: THANK YOU for posting this obituary for longtime Long Island Sunrise Trail-NRHS President
Stephen F. Quigley...I am saddened by his sudden passing after seeing him at the September 2024
LIST Chapter meeting-at one point those in attendance sang "Happy Birthday" to him for his 73rd...

President Quigley did so much for LIST first as an active member and as Chapter President...
One example is his publishing of the LIST-NRHS "Semaphore" each month (except July and August)...
He will be missed...Respectfully Submitted, MACTRAXX

His tireless dedication to the Semaphore, LIST-NRHS, LIRR, and support for the trainsarefun website were unwavering. Our numerous conversations were always a pleasure and I will sorely miss him.

Steve: My thoughts exactly - Steve Quigley's presidency brought stable leadership for LIST overall...
The good relationship with the LIRR and the historical contributions to your website are examples...

Personally it is good to note that you are safe and back posting again from FL after Hurricane Milton...

Steve - From researching RMLI's Semaphore Collection:

Steve Quigley was a 31 year member of the LIST-NRHS Chapter...
His New Member listing was on Page 2 of the October 1993 Semaphore...

LIST-NRHS Board Member for 4 years - June 2001 to June 2005

President of LIST-NRHS for 19 1/2 years - June 2005 to October 2024 (current term is until June 2025)

Publisher of the LIST-NRHS "Semaphore" for 16 years and one month - September 2008 to October 2024

Steve was well regarded inside and outside of LIST for his dedicated service to the Chapter along with
his interest in LIRR history and railroading in general...Rest In Peace...MACTRAXX
