Correct, I saw it on its first inbound trip at Cedar Park paired with (ugh) 1127. My guess is that they still want to retire bombardier cabs but don't have enough K cars at the moment (especially with 1713 needing repairs now). It's currently tracking on #429 to Wachusett.

There was a time that the north side was all 1600s and 1800s for cabs. It's not that the crews aren't familiar with 1800s, but that it makes more sense for day to day operations between different equipment be more similar.

Rotems' most likely to go up next are: 1805, 1812, 1819, 1826

Just because they are OOS doesn't mean they are next. Nobody expected 1809. They are also OOS for a reason, not just randomly sitting at BET free to be put on a set.

1852 started its debut in service on 1849’s 7 doubles set

Reported on Facebook four more off-loaded in Baltimore. Should be the 879,880, 1860, 1861

Hey Buddy,

They are spares. Spares that are already at BET. It would make sense for them to send those.

reason why I said "likely" to go up, not going up.

I saw a grand junction video showing 1805 heading to the bet. Not sure if that’s next to go north or if it’s just getting work done. Same with 1700. We will see what happens from here, but it seems like the rotems are getting their turn up north. At least some of the original batch since they have always been sending older equipment up north and newer down sou th. This is just my observation.

Yeah 1700 got a new plow so it should be entering service soon when the next comet leaves us. Not sure about 1805 but I think thats for passenger too.

With the shutdown of the Port of Baltimore following this mornings bridge collapse, does anyone know of an alternate port to handle offloading of railcars onto the national network.
