All rail at the north end has been removed except that small section in Windsor.

I grew up in Hightstown and watched the C&A being dismantled on my birthday (3/7/83) right before my eyes. Not much left in Hightstown except the bridge abutments near Main Street and the Peddie Lake. I watched freight cars being delivered to end-of-track just north of Winsdor until the early 1990s. I knew the line north of Yardville was on borrowed time but hoped smarter minds would prevail and wold see the amazing historical value the C&A. Unfortunately, such is not the case. I drove by the entire line this weekend and it's gone from Rt. 33 in Robbinsville north. RIP...

A piece of my youth gone forever.

The northern stub-end of the Camden & Amboy is being ripped up as well!

But don't panic, this time it's only temporary. You know how the tracks end just south of running under the NJ Turnpike? Well, the Turnpike is being widened, extended the truck lanes from Exit 8A to Exit 6. As such, every overpass and underpass along the way must be rebuilt or widened. (Note that the NJ-133 bridge was built to accommodate right from the start.) The bridge over the tracks, parallel to Hightstown-Cranbury Station Rd., is no exception. So the tracks are being ripped up, but will be rebuilt when the project is completed.

Look at the sixth picture from the left on this site:
http://www.njturnpikewidening.com/construction/701.html
The seventh pic shows what looks like a pile of crossties and some rail, but what exactly is happening is unclear.

I distinctly remember reading about the turnpike widening plans, and it specifically mentioned that the tracks under that bridge were indeed active, though currently not in use.

Hey everyone ... the other night I was in downtown Bordentown around Third Street ... was around 12:15 AM.. heard train horn blowing crossing sequences repeatedly ... sounded like a freight train servicing that tank car facility about 2 miles south of the Bordentown Wye... I'm hoping I can get down there earlier next week and catch the train coming into town ... when I listen from home, sounds like the train comes north through Bordentown every Tuesday night and Thursday night...

Also had a quick question to throw out there ... today I was around southern mercer and northern Burlington counties taking photographs documenting Sandy's aftermath ... ended up stopping in Robbinsville near the former Main Street grade crossing... a little ways back appears to be an old railroad related structure... very large wooden building.... anyone know what this was? Thank you for any help ....

Hey everyone... thought I'd share some media from last night (and from back in 2010) displaying activity along the Robbinsville Industrial Track.... Last night I caught the freight local outta Burlington (CR WPBU-20) at Bordentown, NJ, coming north up the Robbinsville Industrial Track, off of the NJT RiverLINE trackage .... Here's the video:

And then here are two photos of last night's local:

Now for some oldies that I've finally gotten around to uploading....

1) May 11, 2010 finds a train at the Klockner Road grade crossing in Hamilton, NJ! During the month of May, CSAO did a lot of work installing CWR along the line. This train did most of that work:

2) Later in the year, on November 20, 2010, I happened to be passing through Yardville, when I noticed a train sitting at Clayton/Block just down from the South Broad Street crossing. Needless to say, I hurried up and got everything done, ran home got my camera and returned! Here's the train (it was a ballast train):

.... That's all I've got to offer for now. I hope everyone else on this thread is as happy as I am to see that the Robbinsville Industrial Track still lives on very well today!

Take care.
