LIRR has given control of the Lower Montauk branch to NYA, so the rules in effect previously do not apply anymore. So, there is no "current of traffic" where westbounds travel on 1 and eastbounds on 2. If they traveled west on Track 2, less switches to manually throw when they get to Pond.

Nothing in the yard today, but two LIRR MP-15ac's, 153 & 157 passed by westbound on Track 2 with a cut of empty LIRR gondolas, around 1040 or so. They later came back before noon eastbound on same track with a train of loaded LIRR hoppers and a single black NS gondola, looked like a 40'er, on the end. Haven't seen a short gondola like that in a very long time. I thought there's nothing shorter than 50' in use today.

Saw a CN combination-door boxcar being unloaded of particle board for Interstate Plywood yesterday. Was the only car spotted on the team track.

155 & 159 passed by westbound earlier today, before 2pm, coupled up elephant-style with a UTCX covered hopper right behind them and a mix of loaded gray and black C&D gondolas. The CN combo-door boxcar of last week was gone, and a single SP double-door was spotted in the team yard itself today.
