Hello everyone,
I travel the RVL everyday from Newark to Raritan. I noticed that there is a new customer building what looks like 2 large Silos on one of the spurs that belongs to the Lumber Yard that is switched by the CSX crew off the Share assets main line.
Does anyone know who this new customer is and what will they be receiving. A large pit was also built with a conveyor system.
Any information will be much appreciated.
Thank you

If you follow the RVL, once the train goes from the NEC into the Share assets you will see the lumber yard. The customer is the first switch on the Share Assets section of the line. There is a little yard where usually the spine cars, scrap metal hopper and box cars are kept and then track goes onto a Single track crossing Frelinghuysen Ave. Once it crosses that going east it splits again into a few other spurs. Here is a view facing East. If you ride the train on the RVL or drive on 21 you can't miss the silos.

My understanding is that the Aldene connection is the ramp from the LV - now Share assets down to the CNJ at to Cranford.

The location I am speaking of is right underneath route 21 on the ramp that take the RVL from the NEC mains to the LV.

That yard is called Parkview. The LV had the upper half and the PC had the lower half. The PC's West side branch came off the LV connector and went up about 10 blocks to a few customers including General Electric.

Actually the rail is already in place. The track gang re-installed all new ties in the whole spur that serves this new facility.

What I don't know is what is it. Is it cement? Grain? Saw dust. What the heck are they unloading or loading.

If anyone knows that would be interesting to know.
