In May, Metra closed 67th St. tower on the Metra Electric, and transferred its operations to its CCF downtown. For the unfamiliar, the structure dates from 1926, originally built by the IC to control traffic to and from the South Chicago branch. Intresting to read. Gresham is yet another tower that will be gone after Metra reconfigures the interlocking. Nothing big has happened yet, however the last time I went past the area crews had pieces of new switches laying around. New signals were also starting to pop up.
