Heads up on the lines from Erie, Pa to South Carolina! After much work to replace the axles with roller bearings to allow the move. The 1925 Pullman sleeping car saved from Scrap in the early 1970's and stored at the "Lake Shore Railway Museum at CP 73 on the CSX, former Conrail Chicago line in Northeast, Pa. (10 miles from the GE plant in the Erie, Pa.) is getting a new life! In a special yard move yesterday afternoon it headed for Erie yard to be picked up and head via Willard, Ohio to a rebuild company in South Carolina. It is completely intact inside and was surplus to the museum's collection. At least we saved it, but do not have the resources to restore it. (It has a "Maco" half and half paint job as the one side sat against a wall and not seen by the public for close to 40 years but the parking lot side is fully lettered and painted Pullman Green. It will eventually become part of an all heavyweight excursion train in Colorado. So if anyone sees it along the way please let us know. Be nice to keep track of it on it's journey.
