I found this old photo, of a track walker on the PRR railroad. Lists as NYC... Would anyone, recognize the location? To myself, it looks like the track coming off the Meadow lands and entering the Bergen Hill tunnel to run under the Hudson into Penn Station in NYC. However, the third rail set up is not over head. I think,I remember that the first electrication was the third rail! I'm I correct. Would appreciate any input.

Yes, that is the PRR "High Line" as we call it. That trackman is standing near what would be today's Bergen Interlocking in New Jersey. The A/C electrification came in 1934-35.

Thank you for the confirmation, on the location of the photo. I thought, this was such a classic photo of the workers. Cigar, tools and the hat, and the line in perfect shape. When pride, was high in the work area. You have to wonder also, how many men were killed in their job then, working on the tracks.
