President Joseph Giulietti To Retire

Metro-North President Joseph Giulietti, who took over the helm of one of the nation’s busiest commuter rails amid a series of derailments that killed or seriously injured passengers, announced Friday that he will retire at the end of August, The Journal News/lohud.com has learned.

It is unknown at this time as to who will replace him.

He was here to "clean up" the mess of deferred maintenance,and the FRA investigations findings.
What hurts is the mass retirements that MN has to deal with now,and the loss of internal knowledge and history
of how MN rose from the remains of the PC/CR Metro Region to one of the better run commuter operations of the
region and US

Wow that was short, how long was he at MN? Two years maybe? From what I understand the railroader all liked him, but perhaps a political issue?

Well, Mr. Giulietti pulled the pin earlier than expected. July 25th was his last day and Ms. Rinaldi is acting president until they announce someone on a permanent basis.
