Didn't see this posted before in here or in the NY&A forum, although maybe it snuck in somewhere:
NYCEDC, acting on behalf of the City of New York (the "City"), has issued a Request for Proposals ("RFP") for the use and occupancy of the intermodal portion of the 65th Street Rail Yard (the "Site"). The 65th Street Rail Yard ("Rail Yard") is located between Upper Gowanus Bay and Second Avenue, between 64th and 66th Streets in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The Site is approximately 14.9 acres and does not include the southern portion of the Rail Yard. NYCEDC's goal is to encourage industrial rail and/or maritime-related use of the Brooklyn waterfront, increase economic activity and job opportunities in the area, and maximize financial return to the City. The use of the Site must include industrial (rail and/or maritime-related) activities and must conform to uses permissible in an M2-1 zoning district. Detailed submission guidelines and requirements are outlined in the RFP, available as of January 24, 2005. For more information, and to request a copy of the RFP, visit www.nycedc.com/rfp. RESPONSES ARE DUE NO LATER THAN 4:00 p.m. on March 8, 2005.
