After the hurricane, these "uncommon" trains seem to be becoming a common thing. If anyone has any information, photos, or videos, post them here, I'm sure we would all appreciate seeing them.

This video is one I took yesterday of the Norfolk Southern detour train of H07 running at WSX to Campbell Hall, NY.

Another video that was posted of the SU99 (SU99A) the first of two trains that ran on Saturday making up for the delay of trains during and after the hurricane.

Crew callers and the HB yardmaster had no information on any special movements. A few NYSW employees seemed to be fixed on the move happening this weekend.

It appears that some equipment came down on the SU-100 early this morning.

It was a figure of speech.

Just repeating what I was told that was
spotted going through Hawthorne this morning. I do not indulge in idle speculation.

I'm just curious. None of the yardmasters at NJT know anything about a special move. One would think that if 5 trains suddenly appeared that somebody would know about it.

Also an NJT crew would be called out to move the train from PO to HJ and from Hawthorne/BT to Hoboken or the MMC. So far no extra crews have been called out for that.

Over on the Yahoo Groups, it was posted that last night's SU100 was apparently on the early side- going through Port Jervis at 8:00 PM and Craigville (just north of Chester NY on the old L&HR) at 9:35 PM. No mention of any passenger cars. So unless they had to stop and wait for a recrew, I would have expected it by Hawthorne around midnight or so, not early this morning. JS

Also read on Yahoo that the 8 sets were still in Port Jervis at 6:30am this morning...

Correct, with weather were having, no one is in a hurry to get the stuff out.
And other than possible inspection dates there is no rush.

Well I did also hear that they wanted to utilize the equipment in two possible ways. Either to add cars onto the existing NJT service to Route 17 or to reinstate some Metro North Express trains at least as far as Route 17, saving commuters some time from the long trips down the Main Line.
