I read on another board that the FGLK is now interchanging with NYS&W at Syracuse. Can anyone confirm?

Who will this be better for FGLK or NYSW??

I realize that both CSX and NS have ownership at this point in NYSW, but will it create a shorter route for some FGLK traffic that currently most go to Lyons NY w/CSX or inbound from Corning & NS?

Interesting possibilities. This could be a shorter expedited route for traffic currently brought to Geneva by the NS off the Southern tier. Most traffic from CSX at Lyons, originates from points west and delivered by Q624 from Buffalo. FLGK has had an interchange with CSX at Solvay, and this could also be NYSW traffic for the FLGK instead of going to Dewitt Yard 1st to CSX, can now be directly received from the NYSW. This may also be in perperation for expected traffic of the Ethanol plant being built in Seneca Falls this year. CSX seems to be slowly reducing local switcher work focusing on more mainline trains.

Reducing local trains seems to be the motivating factor. Can't think of what traffic moves between the NYSW and the FGLK though.

The ethanol plant theory is interesting, especially since NS and Motiva Enterprises have just announced an expansion of an ethanol distribution faciity at port of New Jersey. So perhaps the ethanol facility will receive 41M bushels of corn from Perdue Farms (see attached link) and then ship ethanol to port of NJ all via a FGLK+NYS&W routing?
