Along Rt 248 on the ex-CNJ there are 2 block signals near the elevated highway structure. How long have these been here and what are they for? I know they same ones were there in the early 1980s. There are also signals just past the Bowmans Diner.

Those are active signals for the NS Lehigh Line, judging by the look of them (searchlight with large targets) probably installed sometime in the 50's or 60's.

Those are approach-lit automatic blocks signals @ Lehigh Gap. They light when there's a train in their block.. The CNJ got away from semaphores in the 50's. Well, they started to at least..

At Bowmanstown, the one seen from 248 is the distant signal for Lehighton Interlocking (CP-Lehighton).
