Hi All!

Ok, I have a technical question regarding MT4 and MT6 slugs: I visited the Selkirk Yard on both 09 October 2010 and again on 07 May 2011. I saw several slugs.

CSX #1008, CSX #1015 and CSX #1018. All with 6 axles.

As I understand it from the Conrail Historical Society webpages on Slugs, MT4 stand for 4 axle and MT-6 for 6 axle.

Now here's the dilemma: Conrail numbered MT6's in 1100 series, MT4's in 1000 series. The Conrail Historical Society lists #1008, #1015 and #1018 as MT4: a 4 axle slug, and their archives has images of these slug numbers with 4 axles.. (as well as 1100 series with 6 axles)

Yet here in Selkirk is #1008 and 1015 with 6 axles. So:

Did CSX rebuild MT4's #1008, #1015 and #1018 into a MT6's, or
Were the actual Conrail MT6's renumbered when CSX acquired the equipment??
