General discussion about railroad operations, related facilities, maps, and other resources.

Hi;
I have heard a lot of reference on the radio to "CC boards". Trains are instructed to pull up to them and stop.
My assumption was always that the CC boards are the start or end of a block, or the start of a crossing circuit. It would make sense that a train must not cross this point when stopping to await another train.

Can someone clear this up for me?

Thanks

FW

CC board is Crossing Circuit board, it indicates where the crossing will activate.
