EMJ was actually interlocked way back in the RDG days. There was a manned interlocking tower built into the hillside under the road bridge. And there were 3-aspect signals. The Jct was actually a wye, with the passenger station in the middle. The passenger station was moved away from the tracks and is now a private house in the woods. I think Mike Bednar's brother lived there. The leg of the wye that's now gone hadn't been used for a long time. I have a pic of the Jct in the 1950s and the leg is obviously defunct by that time. There were 2 mainline tracks thru the Jct and a bunch of sidings.
It's nice to see what the R&N has done to the Jct since in the 1980s the Catawissa branch had small trees growing thru it and the main didn't have an inch of ballast on it.
