Hello and greetings from the UK - I'm new to this forum.

I'm conducting some research on compatibility of large freight traffic and OCS, and I'm trying to find out how high the OCS operates on the high speed section of the North East Corridor route. Elsewhere on this forum there is reference to OCS operating at about 23 feet on this route. Could anyone confirm the maximum height on the high speed corridor, or alternatively tell me what is the largest plate cleared for the route?

Welcome to the forum!

My suggestion is to place this question in the Amtrak Forum, since the track is owned and operated by Amtrak. Posting this question in Amtrak may get better exposure, and a quicker answer.

I do know WEST of New Haven (Amtrak and Metro North territory), the catenary height is:

New Haven to Devon = 16' 3"
Devon to New Rochelle = 15' 6"

North American railcar loading gauge, known as "Plates":

Plate B = 15' 1"
Plate C = 15' 6"
Plate E = 15' 9"
Plate F = 17' 0"
Plate H = 20' 2"
Plate J = 89' long flat cars (for curve restrictions)
Plate K = 20' 2" Multi level auto racks/automobile carriers
