Nova55: Forgive my ignorance, but with the recent posts about 65th St I have to ask: Are these pics at 50th or 65th St?

50th St. Nothing out of 65th yet as far as I know.

What a great pic, a classic RR marine operation in 2010! Please post more if you have them.

Hello. I used to go there about once a week back in 2000. They were using the black alco, then. The engineer Charlie would wave to me, and I became friendly with the brakeman. That was when you could walk into the yard, and check out the carfloat. Now the whole place is fenced off. I've got some great pics of all the locos that were around the yard.

Why the offset headlight on the front of the SW-1500?

According to this website http://trainweb.org/AbandonedLIRR/roster.htm
1133 began life as a SP 2549, and I do know that SP put all kind of lights on its engines. What all the lights were for you would need a SP fan to explain.
Could not find a photo of 2549 but one of her sisters: http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=150575&nseq=34

New / Old customer for the NYNJ?

I hope this photo link works:

I found it here:

Apparently it was taken few days ago. This warehouse is behind the old SBK card by 39th street. I can't imagine NYCTA/SBK would service this spot? NYNJ would have to fix up and reclaim it's tracks over to and down second ave unless some new connection was made to this bit of track (assuming of course that this is indeed going to be new track laid and not storage of ties for something else?).
