This may be a dumb question, but ...

How do CWR trains negotiate curves, especially tight ones?

The rail is actually very flexible, and lays on racks that allow movement.
The rail is clamped(secured) on center car and it will just slide and bend in curves.
Some loop tracks can not be negotiated with CWR trains as the rail could actually be pulled out of the end racks, then when train gets on straight again the cars would derail since the rail would not go back in the rack.
