Does the railroad that passes over the Mechescatauxin in Parkdale( west of 206) have anything to do with renaming the river the Sleeper, as a reference to the railroad ties that were used?

Here's another question. What do you know about the sand road called
"Riders' Switch" which is a right hand turn from Hampton Road just before you reach Hampton Furnace and the popular put-in on the Batsto?

Does "Riders Switch" refer to a train station that once existed on the upper Batsto? I've always been curious about this but didn't know the history. Thanks!
