An isolated cab is "separate" from the rest of the locomotive. The cab is mounted on rubber pads to reduce noise and virbration. Long hood handrails are not attached to the cab on the SD60Is.

See that cut that runs down the nose there dude, from inside the cab, you can see the cab move a good inch or two when you look at that nose, when your skinning on down the tracks. Besides the the cab riding on a rubber mat, theres big bushings in the nose that mate up the nose to the cab. Ill try to get a pic for you dude next time i clime on one.
