This past weekend, the New Hope & Ivyland held their annual Railfan Weekend. Due to the timing of my son's soccer game, we could not go on Saturday. However, we did go out yesterday.
We wanted to ride the 10:30 a.m. diesel train, but wanted to see the 9:30 a.m. steam train leave. We were successful. There were only about five people on the first train. Here’s the train at the station, just prior to its departure.

We boarded our train shortly before 10:30 a.m. and left on time. There were probably between 15-20 people on our train. Our photo runby location was in Buckingham Valley. About half of the people got off the train to partake in the runby photo seesion. After the second runby, in which they really had the diesels smoking, the conductors asked about a third runby, as we still had some time. Before anyone responded, my son (who is 7 1/2) raised his hand and said, “Yes, one more time.”
I agreed with him and no one disagreed. So, thanks to him, we got a third photo runby before returning to our train to head to Wycombe, so the diesels could runaround the train and bring us back to New Hope.
As we got to New Hope, a light rain started falling. I took these photos of the diesel train in the station before we left to break for lunch.

The rain stopped by the time we left New Hope. We ate lunch in Lahaska and watched the steam train come north as it passed the southbound diesel train, which occupied the siding. We stayed until about three o’clock, having a successful day. These few photos were taken with a borrowed digital camera as I primarily used film yesterday.
