Love seeing the 2 cabooses on the end!

Of all the Christmas trains I’ve been to this month, the Conrail North Jersey one definitely wins the award for best looking. Kudos to whoever did the decorating.

I forgot to ask - Is it safe to assume NS repainted the cabooses at Altoona?

Both were repainted by Conrail at their yard in Metuchen. The cupola caboose is used by their northeast corridor local ME-2. The bay window caboose usually sits in oak island all the time.

Bracdude- I know the cupola is 22137, what is the bay window number? I was able to google the pic for the cupola since it’s a unique caboose.

21241. I believe the bay window caboose is owned by a Conrail employee. Could be wrong though.

The other caboose has been a common sight in the Metuchen and New Brunswick areas for many years now and is still used regularly by ME-2 as a shoving platform car.

It was the Philly Div caboose in the 90’s. I forgot to mention that. And thanks again.

No that caboose doesn't sit in oak island all the time. It's used often and returned to the bay at the end of the job.
