Meanwhile, grading of the roadbed almost done between Okerson and Howell Rds.

Looks like Watson contractors is digging to emplace signaling equipment at Adelphia Rd in Farmingdale.
Signaling for the crossings, or signaling for the railroad?

Forgot to post this earlier. Blue flag wasn’t there before.

Id say more likely they are going to take out and rebuild the tracks up to the roadway. Even if its not really necessary, if its covered in the contract with the state. why not?

And eventually they will probably rebuild the grade crossing too...

Someone posted on facebook that they disrupted a sewer line at RT524, that is probably what they are digging for there.

They are on the other side of the tracks from where the sewer line was extended, and it's not the same company, but could be. Might be more evident in a couple of days.

Passed by the area today. It seems not only are they clearing the curved track of the existing curve, it appears they are also clearing straight, meaning they are getting ready to put the wye in...

Hopefully, we will get more of an answer as the week goes on. My friend said he is planning to check out the area of the switch/wye/whatever on Saturday when they aren't working.

Does anyone have any progress pictures of the new track construction near Okerson Road? Looks to be a different contractor working the line?

The CNJ went a little later, to 1955. Their steam was done on the NY&LB in 1954 I think. The PRR operated the last steam over the F&JA in 1957 about the same time they stopped steam on the NY&LB. PRR steam in ended for good in 1958.

Looks like they cleared the straight section all the way to Railroad Ave. Hoping they build a wye…
