Greg pretty much hit the nail on the head! Eastbound 394 usually arrives in Island Pond between 1830 and 2030 and departs east shortly after a crew change. Most, but not all, nights they switch the lumber transload there. Westbound 393 returns in the middle of the night and heads west between 0730 and 0830. Currently, running most Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights, so the eastbound arrives that evening and the westbound departs the following morning. There have been quite a few Wednesday night extras this winter.

Caught 394 in Waterville, QC yesterday a little after 6:00 PM, or about 2 hours later than usual:

With 3 units up front they made quick work of the grade, throttling down as they reached the crest. The first 2/3 was a mix of different cars, while the last 15 or so were LPG tanks.

Thread has been quiet lately, so here are a couple of shots of 513 today with 3008- first sitting on the high
bridge at South Paris while switching NEPW and second eastbound between Oxford and Mechanic Falls.

393 yesterday approaching Mechanic Falls at 19:10 hrs. Just enough light to get a shot at 1/500th - good thing they were slowing down for the bridge. I also caught up to them in Oxford and videoed them -

It's almost that time of year to get them in S./W Paris with light again...

SLR 393 Eng 804-3804-6904 west thru Bates at 2047 with 50 cars- no PAR 72 in consist tonight.

Here's last night's 393 departing Lewiston Jct, crossing Empire Road. 72 was along for the taxi ride to N. Stratford.

393 ran early tonight and was able to catch them at several spots between South Paris and
Locke Mills- here is a shot at Bryant Pond with 3004-3014 and 43 cars at 1955.

Good shots. I've tried the "upload an image" feature and it hasn't worked for me either- probably something
simple I'm doing wrong so I resort to using "upload attachment" instead. BBcode works with sites like Flicker
but I'm working with files on my hard drive, so not an option.

No reports from Fritz since April. I hope he is well.
