Dead thread I know, but it made sense to keep it in the current topic.

What are current traffic levels like over the viaduct. I should have asked before I visited yesterday. Is it measured in trains per day or more like trains per week/as needed?

I believe there should be 6 train movement each weekday:
- 11Z Binghamton to Enola pre-dawn
- 14R Enola to Binghamton afternoon
- 36T Binghamton to Allentown evening
- 37T Allentown to Binghamton evening
- H97 Binghamton to Scranton and return to Binghamton overnight turn

As you can see much of the activity across the viaduct is nocturnal.

Do the Binghamton to Allentown (and return) jobs go via the Lehigh Gorge on the Reading & Northern, or the long way around via Sunbury to stay on NS?

Thanks! That's much more than I expected.

Pumpers, the 36T/37T Binghamton - Allentown trains do run via trackage rights over RBM&N through the Lehigh Gorge.
