Just listed as Syracuse. Over on the west side someplace? Thanks. No photographer listed.

Looks like the ex-DL&W line to Oswego where it tunnels under the NYC mainline and West Shore at Syracuse Jct.
Train is southbound.

What they said. Looks west off Willis Ave. bridge. Conrail filled most of that in.

The train is southbound on the DL&W Oswego branch and the rear that we can see is exiting the tunnel under the NYC mainline in Solvay. The map is correct on location. Guessing by the RS2/3 painted all black which seems to have a PC logo on the front and van in the background (early to mid 70's ford), I'm gonna say very early Conrail era.

Actually the map is linked to the former West Shore bridge over the DL&W.

Is about as close as I could get to matching the photo, you probably should be looking straight through the lamp post seen in this view at the row of brush between the tracks at left and right.

This track was in place including the remains of a signal almost to the other side of the Willis Ave. bridge at least through the end of Conrail. That's about the point it reached the same grade as the other tracks.

Would be interesting to hear how this line was operated between 1976 and 1985 or so.

Yes, that is the former WS bridge. The pin denotes the train was going under the NYC and WS bridges. The NYC bridges are gone but were parallel to the WS bridges.

I drove over that bridge once. Probably still has a few 1927 date nails in the ties.
