It seems that there will be a hearing up in DeWitt on CSX's derailments, hitting cars that drive in front of them, and the near collision between Amtrak and CSX. Unfortunantly I can't go.

According to this morning's Post Standard, Congressman Walsh has cancelled the hearing because the Attorney General (Eliot Spitzer) is also conducting an investigation. Evidently people who were willing to testify before Mr. Walsh's committee are now less willing to make statements and answer questions with the AG looking to get involved. Of course, it also sounds like a bit of a turf war between the Congressman and the AG.

I got an idea, instead of wasting tax payers money on another useless
hearing why don't we get operating personel to obey the rules,ie stop
in a Stop&Protect order and not falling asleep while operating the
equipment. Just a thought.
