A Beautiful Walk...Whitby-Scarborough

I walked this line (19 miles as the crow flies, 24 if rail route is followed, which I did mostly)...It took from about 5 AM til sundown, in early Oct 2005. If you get to the UK, you couldn't find a more rewarding hike! Lovely people, and wonderful vistas of the sea along the UK east coast, especially at Ravenscar (Peak). Sam

Cloughton, IIRC, is a beautifully maintained B & B with a carriage in an old siding, and (I believe) an old semaphore signal...it is advertised on-line (look for Cloughton Station) with photos. I took some, but I'm not able to bring them here yet (still trying, but not computer literate). Sam

In the 1950s I attended a geology field centre at Cloughton. I arrived by bike (from Slough) but returned by train. I can't remember anything about the train or the station.
