Those are the dates I found too in regards to the last runs of steam and the Doodlebug. The 31 made a Friday run this week to Prestone.

I know a special with the King of England went through in 1939 with cars from Canadian Pacific I believe, but I'm not sure what pulled it on that route. Just curious, watching lots of Youtube Pennsy steam videos and it occurred to me that for all the types of steam Pennsy had, what if any had been used on the route back in the days of steam. Also, what diesels were used immediately after steam into the 60's and 70's , does anyone know or have photos?I have some pictures that my Grandpop took of Pennsy steam in town and a postcard dated from 1903 that has a small 4 4 0 in front of the Pennsylvania station with a passenger train. As far as the diesel locomotives , I have no pictures. I think he lost interest in the PRR at that point and working at the Rugmill it was much easier photograph the CNJ.
