Hello,

Does anyone here work for Metro North as an electronic specialist (IBEW)? Or know someone who does? I applied for the job back in October and just received an email about an upcoming test on the 22nd. I am just trying to find as much information as possible about the actual job. I'm currently working for the LIRR as a Signalman but would like to move upstate. I'm just trying to find out what the job is all about. The description only states that it requires working in close proximity to third rail (fine with that, do it already) and that it requires working in signal huts (already do that). It also states that the applicant will be required to pass the signalman's test but im not sure if that means prior to testing or if this will be the qualification test. I'm not sure what the qualification process is or anything...so really ANY input is greatly appreciated. Take care and thanks for taking the time to read this.

Why in the world would you leave your position you have now?

Any update? How did the testing session go? I saw the posting they had for Acre Electronic specialist. It had the same job description but it paid $5 more per hour. Wondered what that was about as well.
