Sorry if this is posted elsewhere.
A friend of mine who lives in Bethlehem posed the below question to me. Can anyone answer it?
Thanks!
"Have you heard what is going on at CP-88 in Bethlehem with NS? One new signal up and it sounds like another just delivered. Also looked like they were doing quite a bit of digging next to the tracks."

I know they upgraded their signals on the Lehigh on the opposite side of the river for the PTC possibly they are doing it over there as well. If I find out I will post it.

Thank You Autoblock. I do know they still have double tracking on the LONG range plan for the Lehigh line.

The work in question, is to bring bidirectional signaling to both tracks, between Bethlehem and Easton. The crossover at Richards will be relocated, and made "complete" again (so trains can cross to either track in both directions). CP 88 and BETHLEHEM will be consolidated into one interlocking. The new signals will be the first section to get PTC upgrades. Contrary to what was posted above, the other signals that were replaced had nothing to do with PTC. It was done to reconfigure the signaling for the upgrade of the former Royce Running Track into a second main. All of the other signal changes near CP's 51 and 53 predate the PTC mandate.

If NS plans on double tracking the entire Lehigh Line, nobody who works there seems to know about it.

Nothing, apparently. Your post wasn't exactly clear on where you meant. "The Lehigh on the other side of the river" could be construed as meaning the section of the Lehigh Line in NJ.
