I received a telephone call yesterday from a woman who said she was CP Rail HR. We talked for a while and then she invited me a a Job Preview scheduled for today. Unfortunately, I could not take off work on such short notice from my current job, so I declined. She stated that she would be me on the list for the next round. Anyway, I am wondering if that is typical for CP Rail or if that is unusual? I have applied in the past with both BNSF and UP. If I recall correctly, they both allowed a bit more advanced noticed or at least a choice. UP may have contacted me with a date the next day or one further out.
