It looks like Red Technologies in Portland, CT is finally, after an almost 3 year wait, ready to do business with the P&W. Over the last few weeks they have constructed a concrete foundation, which looks like it will be a loading dock, and a steel structure, which looks like it can fit 2 cars under it, looks like it is near completion.

I believe RED is preparing to use the facility, however I don't think they have actually lined up Rail Transportation. I can find out this weekend and I will post an update.

I know they have been having an issue with obtaining the proper permit(s) to ship with the railroad. I would guess that it has been resolved since they are building the facility. I may be able to find out this week when they plan on using it.

Red should be shipping with the P&W soon. The permit issues have been cleared up.

It looks like Red has completed construction on the building. The railroad has to do some work on the bridge before trains can start business with them so it shouldn't be too long a wait.

I have it on good authority that RED will be leasing the switch engine below. It should appear in Portland, CT sometime this year.

Really? that's awesome. I saw that engine a few weeks ago in Worcester when I met with one of the railroads top executives. Please keep us posted. I am really looking forward to the P&W working in Portland again. I remember back when Mid-State first opened they'd have 10-20 cars trains coming and going every day.

Does Red plan on loading a lot of cars then? That would make sense if they'd have a switcher there.

I should get an update when it heads towards Portland. Should be an over the road move with a truck.

Or they could move it via rail on a flatcar. They did that with the Valley Railroad last May.
