Did they repair diesels there or was it closed by the time the first generation geeps and F's appeared on the scene?

I don't know the date it was closed but it was L O N G before diesels.

After the Fitchburg and its component lines (the Cheshire in Keene) were incorporated into the B & M in 1900, the Keene Shops maintained B & M work equipment. Keene was closed in the 1930s and work moved elsewhere; probably most went to Concord, NH.

Thanks, that was my understanding. I became confused by lazy journalism from the Keene Sentinel in a recent article on the Cheshire Rail Trail which mentioned that the shops "closed 50 years ago."
