What route do the Starlights take when the Coast Route is closed, and trains are sent over Tehachapi?
Thanks,

There are 2 possible routes,if the detour starts at Emeryville, east back to Martinez,Tracy sub to Lathrop, then on the
Fresno sub to Bakersfield,Mojave sub to Palmdale Jct,possible handoff to Metrolink's(SCAX) Valley sub into LAUS or
Mojave sub to Rancho,Alhambra sub(via Pomona) in LAUS. Power runs around train at Emeryville.
If from Sacramento, east back to Elvas, then the Fresno sub to Bakersfield, same route options on the Mojave sub
into LAUS. Power runs around train at Sacramento.
There's a possible 3rd option, at Port Chicago divert on to the San Joaquin route via BNSF(Stockton,Bakersfield subs) to Bakersfield,
same options on Mojave sub to LAUS. Power runs around train at Emeryville.

Thank you.

The train does stop at Jack London Square before detouring, so I assume it would follow the Emeryville suggestion.

From Jack London opens up 1 more possibilty, heading south(RR west)divert to the Oakland sub at Melrose,
becomes part of the Alatmont Commuter Express route at Niles Jct,to Lathop (CP Hicks),turn the whole train
at the wye(CP's Pacific,W Lathrop,N Lathrop, back across CP Hicks onto the Fresno sub,not too sure if UP
would use this route, the wye at Lathrop is a Major Jct between the Fresno,Oakland subs.
