At first glance It looks like a power line r.o.w. running between Hopedale and Menden, but the r.o.w. in Menden comes to a short street named Trolley lane. It pretty much makes a straight shot to the old mills in Hopedale so could this have a short trolley line to the mills?

Wasn't the line owned/operated by the New Haven? Reason I ask, is I have 2 station telephone boxes, one is marked NHRR, the other M&U.

Sorry but No, this was one trolley line that the New Haven RR did not have control of , the trolley line gave up operation in 1920 with the coming of the automobile and paved roads. If you go to the link that was posted by Steve dealing with Hopedale you can read about it , Pat.
