A sad reminder for all who enjoy the hobby to please be careful and be aware of your surroundings. This particular bridge has curved approaches which block the view of approaching vehicles, and there is no pepestrian walkway. This area is a rural farm community, and the locals generally don't expect to see people walking on that bridge. The bridge itself is right over top of CP 323 at the west end of the controled siding at Savannah NY, and gives nice views of eastbounds in the morning aloong a 3/4 mile of tangent tracks, and west bounds in the afternoon approaching from a board curve to the right. Please be careful.

At least it wasn't on RR property............

I was on the old Tifft St. bridge in South Buffalo before the new bridge was built. There were a number of us there because one of those steam excursions was comming in from the west on the NS. A car pulling a trailer was going by and the driver was looking at us to see what was going on and he hit one of the parked cars with the trailer on the south side of the bridge!

Did this bridge have a blind spot at the top of the bridge?

...and the approaches are steep on both ends making the narrow bridge deck area quite blind. If you were standing in the middle of the bridge when a vehicle was approaching you would have no where to move! DANGEROUS SITUATION!
