Interesting, I assumed it was stil operated by the railroad for the restaurant like it used to be, but for all I know maybe that changed years ago

Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train does not have their own engine or train crew, they have a contract with Granite State Scenic for that.

Looks like the 1186 was taken for a ride, south from Lincoln to Meredith, late yesterday afternoon. Perhaps as a backup power option in Meredith. It's been quite a while since the 1186 has left Lincoln.

1186 last left the yard in 2018 and last was in Winni in 2014, which I think was the last time an Alco was there (at least running). 1590 has an issue, so I think '86 be running with 302 on the Foliage train to Plymouth. They've been using 302 LHF with the caboose for the past week on the Foliage, and 105 has been shoving with cab car 9159 on the Lakeport trains

Yes on the local. I don't work there, i'm just knowledgeable about it. 1186 is done for the season since the foliage trains are over, but it could be used on one of the trains next weekend on the laconia pumpkin trains

Sounds like you're well connected. 1186 is reported to be out-of-sevice in Meredith, the final Fall Foliage Trains this weekend, had 302 on the south end and the caboose on the north end..

Equipment move north to lincoln today. 1186, the local and 1590 were in tow with 105 leading. 302, the foliage cars and determination and Leo were left there for the trains this weekend, I assume brought north next week sometime.

I've heard that most of the equipment has been removed from station and is now in the old yard behind the new hotel the "Hampton Inn". If it's true, Patriot must be getting ready to rebuild and reconfigure the railyard near the shop/station.

I heard 105 and 1012 making moves today but not sure what they were doing. Looked like 1590 and that equipment move that came down were in the station, so not sure on the truth to those rumors about the empty yard. Most of the private cars and the amtrak hi-levels are behind hampton inn, other than that I don't know

All equipment is in Lincoln yard, nothing new is behind the transfer station at the dump. They did the northbound move after fire training in Ashland Wednesday night, the santa train consist looks to be made in Lincoln yard

958 ran to Plymouth and back today, not sure what for
  by BowdoinStation

Wow, interesting news! Sounds like 958 was awakened from winter storage to be placed back into service. That would be the first time 958 went south of Cross Road in Thornton since October 2021.. Maybe 958 is the designated 'back up' for the Christmas trains this season as 1590 & 1186 are out of service, and 1921 is stored for winter. Nice news.

958 out on the santa train today with 105. Nice to see it running alongside its replacement!

Great catch!! That was a 'one run and done' sighting, as it turned out the 75 year old ALCO/GE S1 was not needed and it was returned to the garage after that first run.. 105 served as the main power for the remaining three runs. 958 will serve as a backup for the time being..
