They've used it for specials but never actual service. It went down to Meredith in 2015 and again in 2018, both returning a year after their respective years.

As a side note, the 958, 1921, and 1186 were moved off the north end of the wye and into the shop for servicing

Thanks for the update! Interesting to see what happens. If they don't plan to keep those Alcos, I hope 1186, at least, finds it's way over to Clark's.

I believe they intend on keeping one around for backup service in Lincoln this fall. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be 1921

Looks like 1186 is ready for service this fall. I've heard it needs new batteries, then it'll be ready for the backup when 1590 goes to Meredith. I hope it does something similar to what 958 did last year, test for a weekend

According to a FB post, looks like the 1590 struck a military transport truck in Plymouth this afternoon.

My kid sent a pic earlier - train definitely struck a truck right at the crossing by the Pemi bridge/Main St. rotary.

Yes, they were moving equipment to meredith for foliage trains. 1590 made it to meredith with the 3 cars by 9:00 last night.

Sounds like the foliage trains will be double-ended. Problem with the plymouth siding. My guess is 1590 and 105 will do this, and 302 will do the local

1921 is also on deck for lincoln backup, with 1012 as the main and 1186 behind the consist

According to video placed out there on the Internets.. Looked like the Driver of the NH National Guard Truck/trailer blew off the functioning crossing lights, ignored the loud train horns, and kept going. The result: the trailer met the cab end of PLLX 1590. Luckily no one was hurt.. Trains can run at any time, even around Downtown Plymouth, where train movements are not very common much of the year.

1590 is back in service and is running in combination with 302 on the foliage trains to Plymouth. 105 is running the local to Lakeport. If you want to see 302 north of meredith, this train would be a good opportunity

Thanks, that is what I thought but there is a photo I saw somewhere on their webpage recently that is looking north from Cross Rd in Thornton so trying to figure out if they go at least down to the bridge north of that crossing or something?

The regular scenic trains stop and reverse back to the station, along side the covered bridge that's part of the Jack O'Lantern Resort. The train does not cross the small bridge over the body of water that's part of the Jack O'Lantern golf course. The train that goes down and reverses on the northside of Cross Rd, is the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train. That train goes further south for a longer dinner experience.

Thanks, that would explain it- I didn't see any mention of the dinner train on the railroad's website so I assumed in all of the various other changes it wasn't running. You'd think the RR site would at least mention it and provide a link, but if it does it's apparently not very obvious.
