I vaguely recall the PATtrain from visits to the city in the 1980's. It's a shame that the service ended.

I'm pretty sure that the Grant Street station no longer has rail access, and that the ROW was turned into a trail. I drove past the ROW last summer on a trip by the city, but I was driving and couldn't stare much when driving by on the parkway.

Not only does the station not have rail access, but the station is gone. It has been replaced by the Allegheny County Court House, Allegheny County Jail, and a parking garage for the T and court house.

The ROW has been turned into what is called the "jail trail".

There have been talks of making the trail into an LRT route to serve the Pittsburgh Technology center, but no serious efforts have been made.
