Does anyone know why car 6111 (The Maria Mitchell Comet) is darker than all of the other Bombardier cars? It looks like the car was repainted or externally refinished, since you can see where they re-lettered the car name on the side.

I've been meaning to ask this question for a while, and the other thread about colors has jogged my memory.

That is because it was repainted and clear coated by the North White Plains paint shop as an experiment to lessen the amount of dirt that gets into the soft exterior skin of the "Bomb" cars.

The finish is "glossier" than the other cars...
