After the merger everything changed.
2/HB-9 and BH-12 were replaced by the "Turnaround" Scranton-Washington and return which often ran with three of the BLW road-switchers. If there weren't 2900 tons it was annulled.
The Port Morris to Phillipsburg time freights 71 and 66 , the "Pburger",(daily except Monday) were replaced by symbol freights HP-1 and PH-2, Hoboken to Phillipsburg, and after the mine at Oxford closed they did all local work at Washington, as the roustabout was discontinued.
Because the L&H interchange was a prime reason for Port Morris to exist it was rumored to close as most of the symbol freights moved to the Erie and the only westbound I remember on the Cut-Off was the "X-1". Most of the loads from the west came across the Boonton Line on HP-1 from Croxton. Does anyone remember an eastward side of the X-1?
This is how I remember how it was until I moved away to Northern New England permanently in 1966.
