I know they were the first romance car on the line but what did it look like what was it's top speed? If have searched for photos but could not find anything so photos would be good. Also what were their road numbers? If anyone dosen't know who Odakyu is they are a Japanese private railway formed circa 1926.

Um, I can look in my photos from when I was in Japan (1998-2000), but I don't think I have any of the Romance Cars. I lived up in Tohoku (the Japanese equivalent of the Midwest) and mostly used the JR lines when I was in the Tokyo area.

Here's an English Wikipedia page about Odakyu's romance cars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romancecar
As for the 1710 series specfically, I can only find a Wikipedia page, in Japanese, about the 1700 series. No reference to a 1710 variant. There was a apparently a 1910 series romance car. I'm not finding any photos of either. According to Wikipedia, the 1700 had a top speed and max operating speed of 95km/h.
