I thought the NYC line to Charleston WV made it through PC and into CR. I can't find any reference to the line in the various PC Region descriptions.

What region was this in and what is left of the line today?

Thanks,

Charles

I believe there was an article in TRAINS a year or two ago (maybe longer) about how this line might be an alternative gateway from Ohio to Virginia under NS...

i can't see it happening since ns is pouring loads of money into their ex n&w route aka the pokey to increase traffic and bring double stacks across the applachian mountains.

Conversely I would be surprised if the line wasn't upgraded solely to keep one of it's primary revenue traffic types- chemicals including a lot of nasty stuff with serious special handling reqs, off the "pokey"
CR had to have done some work on this sub in the 80's and 90's, it had devolved into a risky slow speed shambles in the PC era.
