NJ rail map, anybody?

hi. i was wondering if anybody out there knew of a rail map in new jersey that showed active / inactive / decomissioned rail lines (including passenger and freight lines). i found something on the NJ DOT site, but it doesn't seem to be exhaustive. i've called NJ Transit and CSX, but there isn't one office that knows about all of their rail lines. does anybody have any ideas? thank you!

They are out there. Rutgers has the oldest. What you are looking for might come from many sources. Browse the threads here first. There is always a lead in some of them.

SPV has a relatively recent rail atlas that details current and abandoned rail lines in the NJ/NY/PA/MD/DL region. They go for about $20 on ebay. Make sure it is the 2007+ edition.

If its history your interested in I would suggest Richard C. Carpenter's 1946 color Atlas Volume 1 Mid- Atlantic States Passenger Rail Atlas published 2003. It has all passenger rail lines, stations, mile posts, interlockings, etc. States included are NJ, PA, MD, DE, DC, VA, WV. well worth the cost. Available at Amazon.

Some of them are also available on Amazon. By your link and Amazon, it appears that SPV is currently releasing new versions with color; hence in part the higher price.
