Their website has nothing about excursions:

http://www.nylerr.com/NYLE.php

The OC&T website doesn't even mention their excursions.

Just found this:

http://www.nyletrainrides.com/2101.html

Hasn't been updated in a while...

http://www.octrr.org/

We have a thread on the NY&LE here:

Anyone know what the current paint scheme is for this engine? Yellow/blue/gray? Orange/blue/gray? Full NY&LE lettering? It's had so many schemes, I wasn't sure where it got left at. Thanks.

Since the railroad doesn't plan on running passenger excursions anymore, does anyone know if they plan on selling their former DL&W MU coaches?? I believe they have 3 numbered 5, 6, and 7... Anyone know how much they go for??

Thanks!

They're not worth a lot, probably around what they'd scrap out for. There's a good chance they can't be shipped out on their own wheels because of the age, even if they are roller bearing equipped. Or if they can be the FRA will want a serious going over on them, brake inspections and tests and so on. Trucking them or even lifting them to load and unload from a flat car gets expensive.

Gotcha, thanks!
Didn't realize the coaches were in poor shape up there!

Why are you asking railfans to give you a quote on someone else's private property? Contact NYLE directly if you want to enter into a business arrangement with them.

Very interesting ! My wife and I recently were in gowanda and I got a good look at the rolling stock and engines. Most of the excursion coaches and engines would probably need some work after not being run for 3 years but there not looking in bad shape. However other engines stored there look like they should be in a dead line and scrapped. Across the street a coach from trains planes and automobiles sits highy grown over with trees and weeds. The rear truck has been removed and the coach sits on wood cribbing. This coach eyes the scrapper. They also have a jordan spreader and flatcar that looks complete and could be restored.
