3845 is somewhere on the property, it was based in White River sometime within the last two months on the 600/601 job.

3855 is on the Connecticut Southern.

3857 is apparently in the St. Albans deadline for scrap due to a rod through the engine block.

NECR has upgraded several signals on the Conn River line, replacing some B&M searchlights with bidirectional color light units. Most recent changes are at MP168 and 170 on the Palmer sub. At MP 168 the former northbound-only intermediate (1683) was moved across the tracks and now has both north- and southbound heads. The mast at MP170, the boundary between the Palmer and Roxbury subs, was two-head southbound (pre-2011 beginning of CTC) and one-head northbound, now is single-head in each direction.

The new signal at MP170 is named Windsor Interlocking, and is still an absolute signal, even though there aren't any switches between MP170 and the intermediates in either direction.

Previously the southbound signal at Windsor had been an absolute signal while the northbound one had been a permissive (intermediate) one. Is that still the case, or are they both absolute signals now?

Hard to tell from Bridge Street. No number plate on the northbound side, all of the markings are on the relay box label.

No number plate would indicate that it's an absolute signal.

Windsor Interlocking is the subdivision boundary. Pre-1987, B&M's CTC ended there northbound, with ABS signals on CV. NECR left that pretty much intact, but replaced some staggered intermediates with bidirectional signals. The 2011 reworking put CTC up to MP 16 or so in White River Jct.

Found myself in Windsor for the fourth time this week. Signal box is marked
CP Windsor
MP0.0
MP169.40
on one side, the opposite milepost numbers on the other side.

The old name Windsor Interlocking goes back to B&M/CV joint operation days. An NECR signal maintainer was working in the signal box when I went by on Friday.

Finally got down to Claremont to see what has been happening. New signals prepped but still turned aside at Claremont Jct. North. Claremont Jct. South (Grissom Lane) still untouched.

Some other new signal work includes a new relay box about a half mile south of Balloch's in Cornish NH.

Any photos of the new signals?

The new signals can be seen from the Claremont Jct. station platform, but there are some trees as a background so I could not get a clear picture without trespassing. From what I could see it looks like a one-for-one replacement of signal heads on new masts. Claremont Jct. South can easily be photographed (at least northbound) from Grissom Lane, but that will have to wait until something happens.

Another visit to Claremont today... Hi-rail trucks working on something at the Cornish/Claremont line - couldn't get a clear look through the trees. It might have something to do with the defect detector (which opens with "BNSF Railway").

The new signals at Claremont Junction North are still turned aside with the old B&M searchlights in service. Claremont Junction South has several new signal bases, but no new masts.
