We have a GG-1 in Syracuse and are thinking about lighting it up for events. The main question is what voltage does it use for the lights and stuff? A diesel uses 64 volts DC and we have those bulbs but I'm not sure it used that since it was high voltage. Our thought was in the case of a diesel we would put in a converter from 110 to 64 DC. I've never worked with a GG-1 live so I don't know anything about them. I was hoping someone on this forum could put us in touch with someone who did work on them. Any help is appreciated in advance.

Thank you,
Jeff-

Try the guys at StarTrak. While the units don't run, they did a lot of work on the two the United Railway Historical Society restored and they might be able to answer that question.
