5 minutes and 59 seconds or else its late? Just like the LIRR. The old time rail roaders must be turning over in their graves! On time was ON TIME!! Not the BS of almost 6 minutes padded time! They should be held to the old standards.

( Boss I'm not late, I have 5min 59 seconds like the RR!!!!)

Two points here:
1. The UTU holds no contracts on Metro-North that I am aware of.
2. The New Haven Railroad also considered a local on time if it was less
than six minutes late.

I don't think the UTU has had a contract with MN for a few years now.

It's my understanding that Metro-North used to be on-time if it arrived at a terminal within 5 minutes, and that it was extended to 5:59 to match the LIRR. Can anyone confirm this?

Currently the Association of Commuter Rail Employees (ACRE) represents all conductors, engineers, RTCs, Yardmasters, Stationmasters, Signal Maintainers and Power Supervisors.

There is a minority of engineers and conductors who are trying to re establish the UTU and BLET as the contract holders.
